USL League One today announced the Team of the Week presented by SiteOne for Week 6 of the 2026 regular season, with Westchester SC (2-2-1 USL League One, 2-0 US Open Cup) midfielder Dean Guezen voted Player of the Week presented by Konami eFootball after recording a pair of goals in his side’s victory against Sarasota Paradise last Wednesday night.
A holdover from Westchester’s inaugural season in League One, the Dutch midfielder recorded his first two-goal game for the club against Sarasota, striking twice in the second half to lead his side to a 2-0 win. Guezen opened the scoring eight minutes into the second half moving in at the back post to turn home Jonathan Jiménez’s pass across the top of the six-yard area. He then doubled the lead midway through the half, following up to tuck home the rebound from close range after Kyle Evans’ initial shot. Guezen’s goal vs Charlotte earlier in the season just 45 seconds into the match was the fastest in club history.
The victory earned Westchester its second consecutive win in league play as the side built momentum toward its contest on Tuesday night at home to New York City FC in the Round of 32 in the 2026 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup.
“We are making progress and improving each game and we are starting to see the potential we have,” said Westchester Head Coach George Gjokaj after the game. “This stretch of games, when you factor in U.S. Open Cup and then a trip to Boise, will continue to be tests for us, but it’s a long season and I’m very encouraged.”
