The fullback joined WSC in May after spending last season with the Charleston Battery and started all 21 games he appeared in, and led or was in the top three for the club in virtually all defensive categories. Originally selected 16th overall in the 2021 MLS SuperDraft by LA Galaxy following a standout college career at Grand Canyon University and The University of Denver, he appeared in 52 matches and scored five goals for LA Galaxy II 2021-22 before joining Huntsville City in 2023. He signed a multi-year contract with in December, 2023 with Charleston, appearing in 26 matches and logging 803 minutes across all competitions, with one assist, 13 clearances and 55 duels won in USL Championship and U.S. Open Cup play in 2024. Josh was named WAC Freshman of the Year in
2019 at Grand Canyon, and was named to the conference’s All-Freshman team and All-Conference honorable mention. In 2019, he transferred to the University of Denver where he was named Summit League Second Team and to the Summit League All-Newcomer Team. He holds both Chilean and Japanese citizenship via his parents and speaks Japanese.
