It wasn’t the exact result that George Gjokaj’s squad was looking for, but their improved play continued on the road with a 0-0 draw at One Knoxville Sunday night. Westchester SC goalkeeper Luca Marinelli posted a three-save shutout while One Knoxville SC’s Nico Rosamilia and Westchester’s Koen Blommestijn both hit the woodwork inside the final 15 minutes as the sides ended deadlocked in a scoreless draw at Covenant Health Park on Sunday night. It was Marinelli’s fourth clean sheet of his rookie season.
It was just the second-ever scoreless tie for WSC (the other was at AV Alta on July 25).
The draw moved WSC to 1-3-4 in their last eight road matches, and stretched their current streak to three matches (2 wins and Sunday’s draw), before heading home to face Forward Madison on Oct. 10 and Union Omaha on Oct. 17. They end the campaign at Sarasota on Oct. 24.
