One of the bright lights out of Sunday’s 2-1 loss at Portland was Charlie Dickerson (England/Providence College). The young defender stood out, as in addition to his first career goal, he won 10 of 12 duels and recorded two interceptions and four recoveries defensively and was selected to the USL League One Team of the Week for the first time.
Dickerson is the fourth WSC first year player to receive Team of the Week honors this season, joining Kyle Evans (three times), Luca Marinelli and Tim Timchenko, who have also been selected.
WSC plays at table leader Charlotte Saturday night.
