While the winless streak continued, WSC achieved something for the first time in their two year history on Saturday, earning a road point for the second consecutive match with a scoreless draw at AV Alta.
Goalkeepers Denzil Smith and Luca Marinelli anchored the defensive battle at Lancaster Municipal Stadium, combining for nine total saves to keep both sides scoreless.
WSC’s road winless streak is at 18 games (0-13-5), but combined with their draw at Omaha last Saturday and their 3-0 win Wednesday at home vs. NY Cosmos gives them one of their most impressive seven day spans in their short history. It is also the first time they have recorded back to back shutouts in club history.
WSC now plays at Forward Madison next Saturday, the site where last June 10, they recorded their last road win, by a score of 2-1.
