Head Coach and General Manager George Gjokaj today announced the club has added defender Maurice “Mo Williams to the roster.
A West Orange, NJ native, Williams comes to WSC following a standout collegiate career at Cincinnati, Seton Hall and Notre Dame. He was the ‘20-21 Big East Tournament’s Most Outstanding Defensive Player and selected to the ‘21 Big East All-Academic Team while at Seton Hall, where he helped led the Pirates to the NCAA Tournament. Following his career at Seton Hall played two seasons at Notre Dame, appearing in 30 matches and helping lead the Fighting Irish to the ’23 NCAA Championship Game. Prior to his BIG EAST and ACC seasons, Williams played two seasons at the University of Cincinnati, appearing in 16 matches while being named to the American Athletic Conference All-Rookie Team in 2019.

Williams becomes the 15th athlete with local roots on the potential opening day roster. Westchester Soccer Club will look to build on their 5-16-9 record in their initial season in USL League One when they play the first of three straight matches (2 USL League One, 1 US Open Cup) at The Stadium at Memorial Field in Mt.
