Homegrown Investors Join Forces to Bring Strategic Vision to Westchester SC
Westchester SC, the County’s only professional soccer team, has welcomed a new group of investors led by Wall Street veterans Glenn Hechler, Christopher Jones and Leros Point to Point CEO Jeff Nyikos . The trio bought a stake in the team following its inaugural year in USL League One.
The group was drawn to Westchester SC by the growing popularity of soccer locally and nationally, particularly the USL, with the FIFA World Cup coming to several U.S. locations in 2026, including New York and New Jersey.
“The momentum behind soccer both locally and nationally is undeniable,” said Glenn Hechler. “As investors, we focus on opportunities carrying significant upside. With Westchester SC, we see a strategic investment with a clear path to not only amplify the sport, but to invest in the future of Westchester County and ride the rising tide of the USL and U.S. soccer to build a championship culture on and off the pitch.”
Westchester SC has also strengthened its leadership team, hiring FC Westchester’s George Gjokaj as Head Coach and Pelham-based USL2 coach Ray Selvadurai of Manhattan Soccer Club, as Technical Advisor.
The new investors bring a blend of soccer experience, strong corporate relationships and community engagement. Hechler played college soccer, is the grandson of a European professional soccer player, and father to three sons who played the sport at a high level. Jones is a former two-sport collegiate athlete and semi-pro football player. Nyikos, as CEO of Leros point to point, has supported Westchester SC as a lead sponsor, as well as the USL, providing team travel and transportation for visiting USL teams. Hechler and Jones are also active leaders of the Community-Police Relations Foundation, which strengthens trust and understanding between law enforcement and communities, including through youth athletics and events at Memorial Field, Westchester SC’s home stadium.
As part of the investment, Hechler, Jones, and Nyikos will serve as senior advisors, focusing on business development and corporate strategy.
“We are excited to invest in Westchester Soccer Club at a time when soccer’s popularity in Westchester County is surging,” said Jeffrey Nyikos. “With the FIFA World Cup on the horizon, the team is well-positioned to harness that momentum and energize the community through this incredible sport.”
“Running a business is a lot like managing a team,” added Chris Jones. “You need the right players, a smart game plan, and serious heart. This isn’t just an investment – it’s a chance to bring top-tier soccer to Westchester County and the broader Hudson Valley Region, build something meaningful for the community, win games, and have fun doing it.”
